Tours:
When you make a reservation, you will be asked to arrive early, so the mandatory pre-flight safety procedures can be completed. Please have your ticket or voucher with you, and photo IDs for all passengers to facilitate your check-in.

If you think new York is impressive from the ground, just wait till you've enjoyed it from above.
Don't book too far ahead, as you never known how the weather will be. There are so many trips per day that, if you call in early, you're almost sure to get something on the same day.
I did this on a sunny day with almost no wind and the ride was extremely smooth with perfect visibility on my last day in NYC - it was by far the best way to finish the holiday.
The staff at the heliport is quite friendly (yes, it is big business and they have plenty of people to juggle at the same time) and so was the pilot. There is a recorded guided tour, but the pilot will also give you some extra information at key points along the journey and make sure you're enjoying the ride.
There are several companies offering this service at this pier (sometimes resorting to the same staff), and the prices are also pretty much the same.
